2025 Tesla Model 3: Euro NCAP 5-Star Safety Champion

【PCauto】Recently, the 2025 Tesla Model 3 achieved a five-star safety rating in the latest crash tests conducted by the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), reaffirming Tesla’s leading position in vehicle safety.

In the four key tests of adult protection, child protection, pedestrian protection, and intelligent assistance systems, the Model 3 scored highly, especially in active safety technology, where it scored as high as 87%, significantly outperforming mainstream competitors. This demonstrates the clear advantages of its automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane-keeping assist, and other systems in terms of recognition accuracy and response speed.

The 2025 Tesla Model 3 demonstrated outstanding performance in the latest Euro NCAP tests, with the following specific scores:

Adult Occupant Protection: 90% — Optimized body structure with minimal cabin deformation during collisions;

Child Occupant Protection: 93% — Enhanced ISOFIX child seat anchors and improved side-impact protection;

Pedestrian Protection: 89% — Benefiting from automatic emergency braking (AEB) and front-impact energy absorption design;

Safety Assist Systems: 87% — Equipped with an upgraded Autopilot system featuring more precise lane-keeping and emergency braking capabilities.

With the rapid expansion of the electric vehicle market, Euro NCAP has been continuously raising its safety requirements for high-voltage battery systems in recent years. The 2025 Model 3 showed excellent performance in the side pole impact test ( for the battery pack), effectively avoiding fire risks caused by collisions. This achievement is attributed to Tesla’s next-generation structural battery pack design, which offers superior impact resistance compared to traditional battery layouts.

According to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), electric vehicles accounted for 25% of the European market share in 2024. Meanwhile, stringent EU 2025 regulations will require all new vehicles to come standard with automatic emergency braking (AEB) and driver fatigue monitoring systems. The high scores achieved by the Tesla Model 3 mean it already complies with these future regulatory requirements in advance.

Although Tesla continues to lead in intelligent safety technology, traditional luxury brands such as Volvo EX90 and Mercedes-Benz EQE are also making full investments in the development of next-generation pure electric platforms, which has achieved high scores in crash tests.

Although Tesla has consistently maintained excellent performance in crash tests, its sales in several European countries experienced a sharp decline in early 2025 due to Elon Musk’s public support for far-right European political parties (such as Germany’s AfD) and the Trump administration. In January, Tesla’s sales dropped by 59% in Germany, 63% in France, and 40%-60% in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and other countries.

Musk has since stepped back from political activities. With Tesla’s excellent product quality and the introduction of new technologies, it is believed that the company’s sales will recover.
