[PCauto] BMW recently released a teaser image, announcing that the all-new generation BMW iX3 pure electric SUV will have its global debut on September 5, 2025. This model will become the first mass-produced vehicle built on the Neue Klasse platform and marks a crucial step in BMW’s electrification transition.
The all-new iX3 not only achieves comprehensive upgrades in exterior design, interior technology, and power performance but also targets the global pure electric SUV market, directly competing with the Tesla Model Y. BMW emphasizes its driving experience and brand premium to attract consumers with differentiating advantages.

The new iX3 continues the design language of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X
From a design perspective, the all-new BMW iX3 follows the design language of the new generation X concept car. The vehicle dimensions are 4780mm in length, 1895mm in width, 1635mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2895mm. Compared with the current model, it has increased in size, enhancing interior space and practicality.
Highlights of the new iX3 exterior include an illuminated grille that integrates millimeter-wave radar and cameras, with illuminated trim outlining the edges, enhancing its sense of technology and recognizability.
The headlight design is flattened, taking inspiration from the Vision Neue Klasse X concept car, while the rear features a 3D stereoscopic “X”-shaped taillight design. The drag coefficient is as low as 0.25, and the C-pillar is equipped with an illuminated “BMW” logo. These elements together create a visually impactful sense of futurism.

The all-new iX3 introduces the panoramic iDrive cockpit
The all-new iX3 will feature ultra-close-range projection technology for the first time, projecting a 40-inch 4K image onto the windshield with a contrast ratio of 100,000:1, allowing clear display of navigation and vehicle information even while wearing polarized sunglasses.

The intelligent configuration has been upgraded to the sixth-generation iDrive system, with interaction achievable through a 17.9-inch central control screen and 3D head-up display. It supports natural voice control and gesture recognition, enabling commands without wake words.
The power system is the core advantage of the all-new iX3
Based on the Neue Klasse platform with an 800V high-voltage architecture, it supports fast charging, with 10 minutes of fast charging replenishing a range of 350 km (WLTP standard), and a maximum range of 900 km under CLTC conditions.

In terms of motor combination, the 50 xDrive model adopts a front asynchronous motor and a rear electrically excited synchronous motor, forming an all-wheel-drive system that improves driving stability and performance.

The Neue Klasse platform, being an integral part of BMW’s electrification strategy, emphasizes electrification, digitalization, and circular sustainability.
The platform uses 4695 large-format cylindrical cells and supports bi-directional charging functionality, allowing the vehicle to serve as a mobile energy storage device to power homes or the grid.
The iX3, codenamed “NA5,” will be produced at BMW’s new plant in Debrecen, Hungary. In 2026, a long-wheelbase version for the Chinese market will also be launched, with a CLTC range of up to 900 kilometers. This demonstrates BMW’s global production strategy and emphasis on key markets.

BMW plans to launch at least six Neue Klasse platform models between 2025 and 2027, covering the SUV and sedan segments, with a goal of achieving over 50% pure electric sales by 2030.
